LMRE Board President John Eaton presents District 5 Trustee Judy Pickworth with her Director Gold Certification.

Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce that Judy Pickworth, the District 5 representative on the cooperative’s board of trustees, has earned her Director Gold certification through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

Pickworth has met the requirements to become a Director Gold certified trustee, which signifies her continued commitment to her education throughout her service on the board as an addition to NRECA’s Director Education Program.

To become certified, Pickworth first completed the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) and Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) through NRECA. An additional three credits from the BLC series of courses were also required to complete the program process. To maintain Director Gold status, Pickworth must earn three credits every two years from a list of approved courses by the NRECA.

The Director Gold program was created to recognize electric cooperative trustees who remain committed to continuing their education throughout their tenure on the board and acts as an addition to the CCD and BLC certifications.

NRECA is the national service organization representing the nation’s more than 900 consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to more than 37 million people in 47 states.
