Kathleen Norton Fox of Carlisle Township won the District 3 seat in the 2016 Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees election.
Fox, 58, defeated Michael Guarino, also of Carlisle Township, in the mail/electronic election, which saw 1,596 members cast ballots, representing about 12 percent of the total membership. The voter turnout is the second largest since the cooperative switched to a mail ballot in 2013 and 1,818 members cast votes.

Incumbent Medina County trustees Roy Norris of Litchfield Township and Richard Indoe of Harrisville Township were re-elected to three-year terms.
Fox will represent Carlisle, Columbia, and Eaton townships. She has been a lawyer, a Certified Public Accountant for 21 years with Kathleen Norton

Fox, Inc., and the attorney and treasurer of Fox Veterinary Hospital for more than 20 years.

Fox thanked the members for their vote of confidence.

“I will try to do the best that I can in representing you and try to fill some very big shoes of Ken Diedrick, who has been here for 36 years.”

Norris, 61, will begin his second term on the board serving District 6, which includes Grafton Township in Lorain County and Liverpool, Litchfield, and York townships in Medina County.

“I want to thank the membership for allowing me to continue,” Norris said. “It’s been a wonderful experience. I’ve learned a lot.”
Indoe, a Harrisville Township trustee, has been on the LMRE board since 2000, serving District 9, which encompasses Chatham, Harrisville, Lafeyette, and Westfield townships in Medina County.

“I want to thank the membership for supporting me over the years,” Indoe said. “It’s been a great pleasure to serve you. I think we have one of the top co-ops in the state. We certainly have some of the top people helping out with the board and conducting the business of the cooperative. They are excellent employees, and hats off to these people who are dedicated to serving the needs of our members. It’s certainly a pleasure to serve on a board of such a good organization.”
